ALPA policy requires that prior to attending any ALPA International training course, pilots must obtain the approval of their MEC Central Air Safety, Security, Jumpseat, or Pilot Assistance chair, or MEC chair as appropriate. Additionally, the training courses are designed to be taken in sequence and therefore may require completing a prerequisite training program(s). By submitting your registration, you are verifying that you have (1) received the necessary MEC approval, as appropriate for you to attend the course and (2) have met that course’s prerequisites. This course is intended for ALPA safety representatives who could be expected to represent the Association in an accident investigation. The goal of AIC is to familiarize attendees with the NTSB and TSB investigative process, rules, and procedures, as well as the role of the Association during an accident investigation. At the completion of this course, these attendees should be able to function as the Chief Accident Investigator or ALPA Coordinator for their MEC Central Air Safety Committee.
